Staying in LLANDUDNO North Wales UK. i took a day out by trains to Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey . Llandudno is on a short branch line to Llandudno Junction where i changed train to the Holyhead train. This train goes over the Menai bridge over the Menai Straits.a fast flowing piece of water ,that separates Angelsey from the mainland of Wales. The line terminates at the western tip of the Isle of Anglesey at Holyhead. The train passes through the rail station, with the longest name ,58 letters,it starts LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRN
and so on.! HOLYHEAD is the largest town on the Isle of Anglesey being the Port for ferries to Dublin Ireland. A Day trip to Dublin can be taken by Superfast ferry taking 99 minutes each way,. Holyhead is said to be the place for walking ,fishing, sailing and golf. -------------
On my journey back i broke my trip in BANGOR. It is a University city near the Menai Strait. The railway line is on the main line to Chester and London. Enjoyed a pub lunch ,in a pub opposite St Deinol Cathedral .-- Anglesey and Bangor are in the most Welsh speaking areas of Wales, about 65%.of the population.
